What are the aims of our courses?

To improve your English to get the best possible score on English proficiency tests.
To help you understand test questions in the four areas tested: listening, speaking, reading and writing
To train you in suitable test-taking techniques

What does the course cover?

The course has been designed by expert staff with substantial experience in the design and delivery of training and review courses. It covers these main areas:

English Language Knowledge: grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary needed for the IELTS test.
Listening: letters, numbers, listening to a discussion, listening to a conversation; practice with the kind of exercises used in the IELTS test for example diagrams and gap-filling.
Reading: reading techniques (skim, scan, predict, guess unknown words). Practice in text types used for English tests (descriptive, compare/contrast, for/against texts) taught and then practiced with the kind of exercises used in the IELTS test, for example, gap fill and short answers, multiple choice, true or false, etc..
Writing: narrative, descriptive and persuasive writing and practices in the translation of tables and data into continuous prose as required by the English tests.
Speaking: pronunciation, description and discussion, expressing opinions and talking about topics likely to occur in the test and practiced with the kind of interview required.
Test Techniques: time management, topic and question types used in the English tests.

When can I take the review?

Ideally you should take the review one to two weeks prior to the IELTS exam. This is to ensure that the knowledge and skills you acquired during the class are still fresh in your mind. We advise that you first check the schedules of the the IELTS test and inform us of your schedule so that we can schedule your review accordingly.

What about materials? Do I need to get a textbook?

All the materials you need for your course are included in the course.
